Burnham on Sea Circuit 29

It's like Spring out there today.  What a difference.  Certainly a far different feel to the day compared to recent days.  Nothing spectacular on the ride, just a circuit over the Levels to Burnham, tea and toast and back through Brean and Uphill Reserve.

Green Plover

This was seen in Apex Park in Highbridge.  It is a green plover or lapwing.  Also known as a pee-wit because of its call.  Normally seen in flocks over fields but has been in decline since the 80s and 90s due to intensive farming.  Unusual to see a solitary one in a built up area but this one was injured.  It was able to walk around and did not appear to be distressed but after walking past me, posing for a picture, it hunkered down behind some clumps of daffodils out of sight.  Best leave Mother Nature to sort it out.

Arrived home after 29 miles with warm hands.  That is a first this year without hand warmers in the gloves!
