Old Gits go to Burnham 26

First Tuesday in the month, the Old Gits go to Burnham over part of the Somerset Levels.  A good turnout today, 15  riders (and a wife taking part as the engine on a tandem), and in the almost spring like weather enjoyed the trip out today.  And, for once, the day was puncture free!

Highbridge Marina

High tide in the area this morning, and we cycled through the marina at Highbridge, this was evident by how high the water was.  Never seen it this high before.

On your marks....

Stopped for refreshments at the Reeds Hotel on the Burnham sea front.  Good place this, free top ups on drinks.  Once fed and over watered, the gang get ready to head back to Weston.  A bonus from now on is that the wind is behind us.

Westcroft Farm

Some of the Old Gits, on this particular run, like to call in at this farm near Berrow to stock up on eggs, both hen and duck eggs.  The rest don't mind hanging about waiting for them, especially as it is warming up a bit.

The Big Wheel

Sign that the holiday season is around the corner and tourists will be heading for the town.  The Big Wheel is back.  I think it was in Birmingham over the winter season but has been brought back to Weston on articulated lorries.  Amazing how quickly they get this up.

26 miles recorded today.
