Around Warwick Racecourse

A nice afternoon in the Midlands, a nice opportunity for a stroll around the racecourse at Warwick.  In my running days this was a nice circuit to do, just about 2 miles so a few turns around here went down in a lunch break or two.

A jockey's eye view

Rounding the last bend into the home straight with about 3 furlongs to go, this is what the jockey would see.  Two more fences to go, the main stand on the right and St Mary's tower dominating the horizon.  The jockeys that I have backed in the past would also have seen about 5 other horses in front of him as well!

The Main Stand

Bit of an atmospheric shot this, by accident in truth.  Didn't realise the rain clouds would look so dramatic with the foreground in the sunshine.

A tad over the two miles.  By the time the walk had finished the rain came down very heavily but thankfully the safety of the car had been reached.

  1. You are right, Ken, that is a nice photo with the black clouds in the background. Not long now for your 6 week review and hopefully some (gentle) pedalling. Mick
