Down the prom to Knightstone

Another glorious day which has brought the holiday makers out.  Need to get to the library this morning so what better way than strolling down the prom and back through the town.

Knightstone Island

Still called an island although it is connected to the mainland by a short causeway, this is now mainly luxury apartments.  A temporary lifeboat station has been positioned here since the awful deterioration of Birnbeck Island its former base.  Oh yes, just look at that sky!

Steep Holm

Deemed to be the most westerly point of the Mendip Hills, this small uninhabited island sits about 5 miles from the mainland in the Bristol Channel.  Weirdly, it looks as if it is floating in mid air as the sea and the sky merge into one.

Got some books, job done, that was a very pleasant 3.5 miles.
