Walton Wander 24

In Leamington for a couple of days so arranged a ride out with Mick and Graham.  Met at 9 o'clock and keeping an eye on the weather forecast, which was fine up until mid day, headed out through Leamington and Warwick towards the Kineton area, specifically Tysoe, home of a very nice tea room.
The plan was to head through Wellesbourne along the back roads but the main one we wanted was closed!  Not only to cars but pedestrians and cyclists too! How rude.
Plan B swiftly swung into action and we cycled along the fairly busy A429 into Wellesbourne, not the best of roads to be on two wheels.  Headed into a stiffish breeze as well.  In Wellesbourne we decided, amongst the raindrops, that heading too far south might not be the best plan.  Settled for a circuit of Walton Hall, a fairly upmarket hotel and holiday let complex. Back into Wellesbourne for tea and tea cake and flew back towards Leamington with a tailwind.
A short time after parting company, the rain came down quite heavily and the wind increased significantly.  Later reports indicated that there had been mini tornados in the area so it looks like we made a good decision this morning.
An enjoyable morning in good company.  Did not get any photos despite some good autumn scenery especially between Wellesbourne and the Oakley Woods.  With the camera buried beneath layers of jumpers and the need to make progress back, photos went by the board.

Covered 24 miles today.
