Out with the Old Gits 23

Out with the Old Gits today, taking a different route to normal, out through Bleadon to Webbington and picking up the normal route at Winscombe.  A bit of a dull misty morning, more low cloud than anything with a stiffish breeze coming off the sea. Despite the forecast and the time of year, two of the Old Gits were wearing shorts. Must have been Spartans or penguins in a former life.

 Meeting up

When we meet up at Royal Sands, there can be up to 20 riders congregating on the footpath near by. Judging by some looks and comments made by passing pedestrians, this is not really a good advert for cyclists.  It was decided to meet  up nearby at somewhere more suitable and the promenade made much more sense.  This has the added advantage of a nearby shelter should it rain. The high tide warning is a result of the 'supermoon' that is hanging around at the moment.

The ride itself was uneventful apart from a chain coming off after Bleadon. Had a good chat and some banter over tea and toast and headed back to Weston with the wind in our faces.  Not a bad 23 miles at all.
