A Pedal around Puxton 21

Been trying to shake off a heavy head cold for the last couple off days, certainly did not feel like cycling despite a really nice sunny day yesterday.  Not too bad today so venturing out to another sunny day.  The plan was to do about 30 miles out to Wrington and back but heading into a chilly wind decided to shorten the journey and head back to Weston from Hewish.

Down the Prom

After 1/2 a mile decided to stop and put a windproof top on and dug out the balaclava from my rucksack.  Both were needed.  Took the opportunity to take a shot of the rather bleak beach looking towards the pier.  5 months ago, this would have been fairly crowded.

Future Cycle Way?

Took a little detour just outside Weston to see where the proposed cycle path between Weston and Clevedon will be going.  This has been held up for a number of years as land owners are reluctant to open access on their land. There has also been an issue about crossing the River Yeo and the erection of a bridge near a sluice gate which is a few hundred yards ahead of this gate.  The notice says it all really, as well as the big padlock on it. The latest news is 'opening in 2017' so fingers crossed.

Just under 21 miles today, that was about right for this poorly old soul.
