Old Gits Plus a bit 30

Tuesday morning, Old Gits Day.  In fact, being the first Tuesday in the month, it is Burnham on Sea day with a later start from my location.  Extended the normal route slightly by taking a different route through Lympsham.

Before the off

11 of the Old Gits lining up opposite Royal Sands at 8.45am waiting for the start of the ride to Burnham on Sea.  With one more to pick up on the way, and yours truly, 13 of us made the ride today.   After two or three days of really nice sunshine, it was a bit of a shock to be out in quite an overcast day with a fairly brisk westerly wind in our faces going to the Weatherspoons at Burnham.  The bacon roll and free refills on the coffee were a bargain at £2.58 so worth the effort.

Kewstoke Extension

Starting from home meant a mileage of only 20 when we finished.  There was a bit more in the tank for me so I extended the morning by going out to Kewstoke, near Sand Bay and back. That put another 10 on the clock.  Some nice seating was available at the top of the climb at The New Castle Cafe. Very sturdily made, it will be available long after the Apocalypse has been and gone.

A good ride in good company, totalled just over 30 miles today.
