Lympsham Loop 10

Not going too far today. The wind is getting up and I have been invited out for a cream tea by my daughter so time is a bit tight.

Rowing boat

This one is well past its sell by date and is being used as a flowerpot!  This is outside the entrance to Uphill Marina.

Lime Kiln

The marina sits alongside an old limestone quarry and this is a lime kiln that was used for burning the stone and creating quick lime which has all sorts of uses. At one time it was used by the English navy to throw into the eyes of french sailors to temporarily blind them so that a ship could be captured.

Lympsham School

A very Victorian building on the outskirts of the village of Lympsham.

A quick blast round today, 10 miles covered.
