Chichester Chase 15

Off to Chichester City today.  One of the oldest cities in the UK it is a Roman city of some impoprtance and is the county seat of West Sussex.  Just a shortish trip today, pleasantly surprised that the forecast of heavy rain did not materialise.

Chichester Cross

In the centre of the city is this 15th century Market Cross, built as a market place. It stands at the junction of the four main roads in the city.

Cathedral

Built in the 11th century, the Cathedral is dedicated to the Holy Trinity. It was built of very weak local stone and the spire collapsed in the 19th century and had to be replaced.

Wooden Bear

Seen outside a garden centre, a good way to advertise your products.

South Downs Holiday Village

The home for the band that I play with for three nights. Not a bad place, it hosts loads of musical events. Just 1/4 mile form the beach a good location but is not children friendly.

A good one today, a fraction under 15 miles.
