Cheddar Chase 34

Out with 3 other Old Gits today. They are undertaking a road trip in the summer and need to get a few miles under their belts and I have been invited along today. Time was a bit precious so went with them as far as Cheddar where I turned back.

Cheddar Cycles

Left Weston, out through Banwell and Sandford, through Axbridge on the Strawberry Line to Cheddar. Rode past this cycle shop which is useful to know should any problems occur out this way.

Cheddar Market Cross

Situated in Bath Street, dates from the 15th century when it marked the village's market square. It is a Grade 2 listed building and has survived several traffic accidents, the last in 2008 when a taxi demolished two of its sides.

Bluebells

Always a good sign when these appear. These are the first ones spotted this year and were on the Axbridge to Bleadon Road.

A good 33 miles today, past the target for the week with two days to go.
