11th September 2014 Tysoe Trot 33

Back in Leamington for a couple of days so took the opportunity to have a ride with Graham, the first one for a month. We agreed on Tysoe for a destination and went through Bishops Tachbrook, Wellesbourne, Walton, Oxhill to Tysoe and back through Kineton and Bishops Itchington. A bit chilly first thing but the day soon warmed up and we rode round in glorious sunshine.

Eggs for sale

Met Graham at the Heathcote Pub in Whitneash before riding out through Wellesbourne and Walton. We crossed the Fosse Way on the way towards Oxhill. Just along there, an enterprising person had left this little stall outside of their house. Both chicken and duck eggs were for sale, and at £1 for 6 were comparable to Asda or Tesco prices.

Oxhill village Hall.

In Oxhill village itself, the village hall looked as if it had just been newly decorated. Some kind person had left apples in the bucket on the ground with a sign, 'help yourself'. If only I had taken my rucksack with me.

The Peacock Inn

This pub was also in Oxhill.  Plenty of good reviews on trip advisor although they are advertising for new staff including a chef.  The owner came by as we were there and apologised for the state of the hanging baskets. Must admit, they were a bit past it.
Carried on then to Tysoe where we had a snack (tea and cake) in the lovely tea rooms there. Sat out the back in the sunshine, very pleasant indeed, before making our way back to Whitnash.

Another good ride, 33+miles in very good, sunny, conditions.
