30th August 2014 Eastertown Trot 14

A nice morning for a ride, a bit blustery but the sun appeared now and again; bonus. Taking the Peugot for a spin around Lympsham, Eastertown and back through Bleadon and Uphill.

Somerset Orchard.

A fairly flat circuit this one.  Not a great deal to photograph unfortunately.  The best offer that came along was this orchard of apple trees on the Shiplate Road into Bleadon. No doubt destined for the local cider presses. Just after this, heading into Breadon, it was a fairly stiff climb, the only one, and the gears slipped just as the steepest point was reached. Losing momentum, it meant getting off and walking for a bit but nobody saw me. Phew.

A fraction under 14 miles today. Tinkered with the gear change a bit, hopefully, that problem will not reoccur.

  1. Happy belated birthday. Hope I'm still riding at 71 -- only eight years to go. Are you enjoying your new home?
