28th August 2014 Lympsham Loop 10

Give the Peugot another try out today. The first ride was OK, time to give it another go. Taking it out through Uphill, Bleadon and turning at Lympsham. There are a couple of hills in that loop will will test the gearing, and the brakes.

The Ship Inn, Uphill

Nerarly bought a house in Uphill, just south of Weston. It was when it was realised that some areas of the village looked as if they might be below sea level and there are flood gates for high tides that we stopped looking. Not a bad little place, very close to the sea, and it has a couple of pubs, the Ship being one of them. Their web site boasts that this is the oldest pub in Weston Super Mare and, allegedly, has a resident ghost. Unfortunately, the history page on the site is blank, being updated! Perhaps waiting for the ghost to appear.

C of E Infants school Lympsham

The climb out of Uphill was not too bad and the new gearing on the Peugot seems OK. Travelled on the side roads into Lympsham and found this quant little school.  First used in 1878, it boasts close links with the community which is mainly agricultural and small businesses.

Tracked back to Weston and completed just over 10 miles. The bike seems fine, just needs a little tinkering with to get the set up right. A good clean down and get some original Peugot Premiere decals for it and the job will be done.
