18th March 2014 West Mids Wander 26

Out with Graham and Mark today for a spin. We met at my house for a cup of tea before setting off for a circuit to include Chadwick End, Balsall Common, Burton Green and Kenilworth. Unfortunately, the responsibility of making the boys a cup of tea threw me completely and I forgot to turn the Strava GPS on until 2.5 miles into the ride. Hence the gap between the start and finish point on the map below.

Nosh Time

Started of OK, in cloudy conditions but it deteriorated when we got to Chadwick End with showers, heavy at times. In Balsall Common, headed straight for the La Delicia bakery and had tea and cake whilst it chucked it down outside. Mark and Graham below sitting back after 'stoking up'.

La Delicia

Situated in Station Road, Balsall Common, this bakery/tea room is a welcome stop when out on a ride. This was certainly the case today with the heavy rain that had started.  I went for an eccles cake and it was very tasty, and even better, it was enormous! Very filling. By the time we had an extra cup of tea it had stopped raining and the sun was out. We headed on back to Leek Wootton via Burton Green and the Greenway. Luckily, the weather held out on the way back.

Taking into account the missing 2.5 miles on the GPS, totalled over 26 miles today.
