7th November 2013 Lowsonford Lollop

Nice day today, perfect for cycling through the leafy lanes of Warwickshire. Took off through Beausale and did the lanes out through Rowington and Lowsonford before turning back through Shrewley, Norton Lindsey and Warwick.

Tom o' the Wood PH

This pub is on the Finwood Road between Rowington and Lowsonford.  There have been a few changes over the years, including a big fire in the 70s. The current management took over two years ago and have made some impressive changes. It looks and feels just as a country pub should and the menu prices seem OK. It has a nice garden as well, right by the canal. I called in for a cup of tea (it was a bit cold , in the wind, out there today) to warm up a bit. I was the only customer. One downside to the place, I did not appreciate Boris, the big black labrador, continually trying to lick me. The bar staff took him off after a bit thankfully.

Canal view

Left the pub and this view was just over the nearby canal bridge. All very peaceful on an autumn Thursday morning.

Just over 25 miles today. Despite 4 layers of clothing, surprisingly cold when cycling into the wind.
