5th November 2013 Bonfire Blast

A quick spin around Leamington today, just to get the lungs working. Rubbish weather this morning, at one stage it seemed unlikely that a ride was on the cards but, it brightened up after lunch so worked on the old favourite, the circuit that takes in the east of Warwick, Newbold Comyn and Leamington town.

Royal Spa Centre

One of two theatres in the town, the Spa Centre was opened in June 1972 by Sir Anthony Eden, one time prime minister and MP for the town for many years. Apart from the main hall, it has a 200 seat cinema which shows films which are no longer released, or independent films. It is normally cheaper than the town theatre, especially on a Monday. If you are interested, this year's panto is Aladdin. "Oh yes it is!"
Sorry folks, just the one photo today.

Whilst riding round this 13 mile circuit, I reflected on the fact that it is 12 months today since a friend, colleague and fellow cyclist, Angus Dick, collapsed and died whilst out cycling with my friend Graham. Angus was 82 when he collapsed at West Gate, in Warwick, with a heart attack.
