23rd November 2013 Temple Balsall Bash

It was cold out there today, despite loads of layers. The wind was from the north west and had a bite to it. It was a good decision to head into the wind for the first half of the ride. The route today is a favourite of mine, out through Beausale, Chadwick End, Temple Balsall, Balsall Common and back home through Burton Green.

A very pleasant 23 mile circuit, broken up with a cup of tea and an excellent eccles cake at the 'La Delicia' cake shop in Balsall Common. No photographs taken today, this has been covered quite a few times now. This blog has been going for a couple of days over 12 months now so new subjects are harder to find, so here are three from a year ago.

Anne Hathaway's Cottage, Stratford upon Avon

Taken on the 9th November 2012, this tourist attraction is just outside the main town at Shottery. This was the birthplace of Will Shakespeare's wife who lived here as a child.  This 12 roomed house was built in the 15th  century and is owned by the Shakespeare Trust.

Evesham Bank

Taken on 13th November 2013 this fine old building is owned by Nat West Bank.

Warwick Tea Rooms

Another fine old building in Warwick. Built in the late 15th century it was the home of an important local business man, Thomas Oken. It was, for many years a museum dedicated to dolls, but it is now a tea room. If you want bone china, chintz, and a good service, this is the place to go.
