22nd July 2013 Packwood Prowl

Out today with my mate Graham. We met at my house and made our way through Chadwick End to Packwood House.

Packwood House

It was a perfect day for riding, hazy sun, and a light breeze that kept us cool. Thunderstorms were forecast on Graham's barometer, but we should be back before they arrive.
Packwood House, at Lapworth, was built in the late 1550s and is very representative of a fine Tudor House. It was donated to the National Trust in 1941 and is open to the public except during winter months. There is a fine collection of period furniture and it also boasts a Yew Garden which is supposed to represent the Sermon on the Mount.
You can see Graham, waiting patiently on the right.

Leaving Lapworth, we headed south through Mousley End, Hatton (and the Locks Cafe), Norton Lindsey and Warwick before returning home. A comfortable 29.3 today, a good ride.
