16/17th July 2013 More Motor Mayham

Still in Wales. First job on Tuesday was to get my bike fixed. A phone call to a local battery dealer was very positive, (pun intended) and they checked the battery, found out that a cell had 'collapsed', and would not charge. The solution was easy, buy a new one.  20 minutes and the job was done. We were on the road again, so we took off north along the coast to Towyn where we had a trip on the Tallyn Light Railway.

Duncan

We were on the road again, so we took off north along the coast to Towyn where we had a trip on the Tallyn Light Railway.  This was the world's first preserved railway and was originally built to haul slate from the hills to the coast. Today, our carriages were hauled by Duncan, one of the several engines used on this line.

Aberdovey

After Towyn we travelled back to Aberyswyth via Aberdovey. This is a view over the harbour looking towards Borth. An excellent day, some lovely biking roads, marred unfortunately by resurfacing of chippings. I would not have liked to have ridden on them on a pedal cycle.

Welcome break

This is on the journey back. We were about 80 miles out of Aberyswyth and in need of a break. Had ridden along the A44, along some tremendous roads, and it was time for a breather. Stopped for tea and cake later, and got home just before 3pm. An excellent trip.

Looking forward to meeting the cyclists from the ESCC tomorrow and get back on some real wheels!
