4th March 2013 Loxley Leap

Long ride out today with Graham. Tried this one a couple of weeks back but it was so cold we gave up. Heading out through Warwick and Charlecote, through the village of Loxley, and back home via a cafe!

BBC photo shoot

Each week the BBC invite viewers to their web site to submit photos on a certain theme. It is not a competition, just a bit of fun. This week the theme is Hi-Viz. Riding through Charlecote I spotted this safety mirror, in the hedge, which gives motorists from a hidden drive a chance to see what is coming. In this case me! I thought this might be one to send in so took a picture, outside of the remit for the blog I admit. What do you think. Worth sending in?

Perhaps not.

 Loxley Parish Church

Built in the Norman times, in 1286, this church has stood the test of time. Dedicated to St Nicholas, it stands on the Stratford Road.

M40

Now we are back in modern times, on the footbridge that links Barford to Warwick over the M40. Not much traffic about at the moment, but it does have its moments in rush hours. This is a short stretch between junction 15 and 14 looking south.

Good long ride today, a fraction under 30 miles. The weather was not bad either, a coldish wind that wasn't really a bother.  A stop at the cafe at Wellesbourne was most welcome.
