Looking Back Part 3

This is very frustrating. No mountain bike at the moment and there is snow all over the place. It is not really safe to go out on the main roads with the road bike and the repair to the old bike will be too much, might as well buy a new one. Let's have a look back again today. Perhaps at the tea stops I keep mentioning.

Wellesbourne Airfield

This is a super little cafe just on the edge of the airfield. It is not a big airfield, it just handles light aircraft but the cafe is a very popular place. It is about 11 miles from home on a fairly flat route so ideal for a spin out. You may notice this place gets a mention a few times in this journal.

Hatton Locks

Another place that gets mentioned is the cafe at Hatton. This is about 6 miles from home on one of my favourite circuits. Over the fields to Hatton then down the canal to Leamington and home. From this cafe into Warwick there are 21 locks so an easy ride down. It is a popular walk at weekends so the bell on the bike gets well used! During the winter months a stop for tea and cake is most welcome whilst in the summer it is a treat to sit outside and watch the barges negotiating the locks. Another place to be recommended.
