Two trips to Burnham with the Old Gits. 21

A couple of trips down to Burnham on Sea, both with Old Gits.  Today was the 'Friday Riders' outing but yesterday, Andy and I caught the train down to Burnham hoping to reap the benefit of the very strong wind heading back north.  That didn't work out. The gusty wind was off the sea so from the west so didn't really help us.  At times it was more of a hindrance. At one point it gusted so strong that Andy was blown off course onto the grass.  Luckily this was in Apex Park Highbridge and not on a main road. After tea at the Bay View Cafe in Burnham headed back to Weston via Brean and to be honest the 20 miles we covered was enough.  It felt more like 30 miles.

Today's ride

This was the Friday ride with the Old Gits.  There were 6 of us today, and the plan was to go across the Somerset Levels but we split up, with three of us (the old and the lame) opting to take a shorter trip to Burnham leaving the others to do the full trip to Sweets cafe and burn a bit of rubber on the way.  I don't know how the youngsters got on, but myself and the other two did the Bay View cafe before returning to Weston via East Brent.  Luckily the weather had calmed down considerably from yesterday although it was a lot  cooler.
