First ride for a month. 3.7

Had a walk out for a couple of miles this morning and on the way back picked up my bike which has been in for service.  Must have needed it, had to have a new chain and the cassette replaced.  So, big today, first ride out today after my stomach operation. I did check with my specialist a couple of days ago if it was OK to start, and he agreed it was as long I wasn't going up mountains jumping over rocks.  No fear of that, just up and down the flat prom to start of with and he was happy with that.

Sad sight

Found it very easy going with the wind behind. Had a chaperone with Norman, one of the Old Gits, who needed to get out as well for the first time after a shoulder injury.   At the end of the prom went a few yards further, partway around the Marine Lake, and came across this bench which is a memorial to a 23 year old lad.  The tributes are from his grandparents.

Tea time
Norman on the right, this is us taking a break at the Knightsone Cafe before making our way back.  Not so easy going returning into a cold wind.

No problems on that first ride.  Thoroughly enjoyed it.  another 3.75 miles towards an almost unrealistic target of another 5,000 miles this year.
