Sauntering out to Stratford with Graham. 36

Up in Leamington for the fortnightly couple of days and met up with Graham for a ride out.  Debated where to go and decided on heading to Stratford upon Avon to take advantage of a following wind on the way back.  The photos show some glorious blue skies which lasted all day.  Spring seems to be not just knocking, but hammering on the door now.  Went out through Warwick, Barford to Hampton Lucy, to Stratford.  Back through Wellesbourne,  Loxley, Walton Hall and Bishops Tachbrook.

Floods, what floods?

Drove over this bridge in Hampton Lucy yesterday and the water was a lot higher than today and covered all the fields.  Amazing how it has gone down so quick. Right in the centre of this photo is a swan on a nest (the white dot in the distance).  Graham and I wondered if he was in Warwick last night and woke up this morning amazed that he was now in Hampton Lucy.  Perhaps not.

Shakespeare's jester

This statue is in Henley Street Stratford and portrays Touchstone from the play 'As you like it". It was commissioned and paid for by a local businessman in 1994 and stands near the Bard's birthplace.  Had to fight off a horde of tourists to get a clear shot at it.

Tea and cake

Taken in the Vigour Cafe in Rother Street Stratford.  Good quality home made scones and tea cakes but the tea was a bit weak.

A good hilly ride this morning, quite challenging for me on the old heavy Peugot.  Thoroughly enjoyed the ride though and covered 35.95 miles.  Let's call it 36.
