Out with 14 Old Gits

Not the best of days today but fair play, all those that signed up for the ride turned up despite the overcast sky and the rain.  It was the usual route today, out to Banwell (and up that pesky hill), through the lanes to Winscombe and Sandford and a stop for refreshments at Caffles in Hewish.  Thanks to 'Banwell Dave' who treated us to a drink on his 83rd Birthday today.  Some braved the Strawberry Line but reported later it was a tad muddy.  As a change on the way back, half of the group diverted through Wick St Lawrence and Sand Bay.

There is always one!

This is what happens when the rain stops!  Stopping at Rob's Corner near Max Mill Lane, it was time to think about perhaps discarding some of the wet weather gear.  This was a bit of a shock to the system when over trousers were removed to reveal shorts underneath.  At first sight it was thought there were two bits of white cotton dangling down beneath them until someone pointed out they were legs!  A commendation goes to Geoff for being the first to wear proper shorts this year on an official Old Gits Tuesday ride.

The rain did come back later on the way back but not enough to dampen our spirits.  The little extra at the end took the mileage to 25.8./
