Old Gits go to Clevedon 47

Surprising number of Old Gits turned up for the Friday ride and it is not as if the weather is spectacularly good.  There was nine in total plus a guest (welcome aboard Mrs Tim) and the aim today was to get over to Clevedon to Scarlett's Cafe opposite the Pier.

Hold up

Extended the ride out to Clevedon by going through Puxton to the Strawberry Line and turning north up to Yatton.  Thought it might be a bit wet up there but it wasn't too bad at all. Going through Kingston Seymour we were held up by some builders lorry unloading goods.  Managed to squeeze through OK.

Scarlett's Cafe

Made it to Clevedon Pier, 22 miles clocked so far.  This is some of the Old Gits locking their bikes together before vittles.  A view of a bit of the pier behind them.

Old Gits ensemble

After tea and toasted tea cake (a bit expensive in there we thought) we gathered for a group photo taken by one of the waitresses. Not the best of quality really.  Left Clevedon up quite a draggy hill then descended on the moors/levels to take a circuitous route back to Weston via Claverham, Yatton, Churchill and Banwell.  A bit hard going at times into the strongish SW wind.  It wasn't cold though and at times, very pleasant.  Nice to see the hawthorn hedges starting to green up as well.

Good outing that was today, 47 miles added on, well chuffed with that.
