Old Gits go on a New Route 23

The opening of the new Brean Down Way back at the start of summer has shortened our normal ride to Burnham by about 3/4 miles.  As an alternative, a new route was tried this morning, out to Brent Knoll, over the A38 towards Mark and past Rich's Cider farm to Highbridge Marina and Burnham.  The weather was good, a bit of a cool wind, but the sunshine compensated for that.  14 Old Gits took the plunge today.

Leaving Burnham, rode through Berrow to Brean (collecting some eggs on the way through Red Road) where we picked up the Brean Way at Diamond Farm caravan site.  The photo is some of the group on the trail with the village of Bleadon in the distance on the side of the Mendip Hills.

All agreed that was a good ride today.  Covered 23 miles in all.
