A little mile around Ashcombe Park 1

A little bit of exploring around Weston this morning.  Lived here 3 years and never been in one of the local parks, Ashcombe Park on the Milton Road.  Very pleasantly surprised when we did, a delightful place, full of character, quite steep paths in places but well worth a look round.

Tea stop

This was a bonus, a little cafe in one corner of the park.  Just the ticket, strategically sited at one of the highest points in the place.

Main Entrance

This greeted us as we entered into the place, a lovely avenue of trees.  Too many dogs for our liking but they have to go somewhere I suppose.  There are also two children's play areas, quite well appointed, so mental note to introduce the younger grandchildren to them.

Only a mile but it was steep enough to get the old ticker working so job done today.

  2. Ken, I have now got uptodate with your walking blog and good to see you keeping active. Not totally convinced your gull on the post is a LBBG - surely those legs look more flesh coloured than yellow? And although the GBBG is a big bird the difference between the two on size is not always that apparent. No mention of any racks yet - walking around is a good opportunity to spot them - I hope you haven't given up on them yet, Ken? Mick.
