Old Gits Reverse Route 22

Old Gits day as it is a Tuesday.  Meeting up at Knightstone for a 'reverse route' ride to Caffles at Hewish and back via East Rolstone and Locking.  A good turn out today, 19 Old Gits, and two wives on the back of two tandems.  The weather was kind if a little chilly first thing, with breaks of sunshine to cheer us up.

Meeting up at Knightstone

The first Old Gits to arrive assembling at Knightstone Island at the north end of Weston prom. Riding into an east wind, some of the more hardy (foolish?) ones questioning the decision to wear shorts.

The Crematorium.

About 7 miles into the trip, we stopped to regroup before reaching Wick St Lawrence.  Not so sure this is the best place to actually stop and loiter for a few minutes.  Best to make sure everyone has a pulse before we carry on.

Silver Moor Lane

Leaving Puxton, the road is a bit rough in places along Silver Moor Lane.  This ends in a short, sharp climb that gets the aerobic system working a little bit harder. Some break away riders were ahead of the peleton with some stragglers away in the distance.  Time to regroup in a short time.

We all made it back in one piece.  Covered just over 22 miles on this jaunt.
