Out with Old Gits on Original Route 23

Weather forecast is pretty good for the Tuesday ride out with the Old Gits.  Doing the original route, out to Banwell, Winscombe, Strawberry Line to Sanford then out to Puxton, Hewish for refreshments and back home.  Good turn out today 15 started, 3 more just cycled to the coffee stop together with two sick and wounded.

Setting off from Wick Lane near the A370

Nicely fed and watered at the Caffles Garden Centre, we regrouped just off the main A370 at Puxton. We did find out at the cafe that, as it is Pancake Day today they were giving away a free panic cake with a drink.  That was after 1pm today which, unfortunately was too late for us.  Now, if we had have known this we could have set off a lot later.  The penalty for that would be that we would have been soaked by heavy rain at this time.  What a choice, a pancake or a soaking.

Covered a little under 24 miles today.  The wind seemed to increase toward the end and the last 5 miles was straight into your face.  Not pleasant at all.
