Old Gits to Burnham 21

Tuesday, so its Old Gits Day.  A bit nippy out there, about -2 C so plenty of layers on today.  We are off to Burnham on Sea, the usual route on the first ride of the month.  Some of the roads are off the beaten track a bit so will have to watch the road surfaces.

Meeting on the prom

Longer range shot of the first 7 Old Gits gathering on the prom.  Meeting at the roadside proved a bit anti social with sometimes 15 plus cyclists gathering on the pavement so for these rides, the meeting point was changed to the southern end of the prom near to the beach huts.  Not in anybody's way here.

A bit nippy on the fingers riding round first thing.  A bacon roll and coffee at Reeds Hotel in Burnham changed all that.  The roads were bad in places but none of the fifteen that turned up fell off which was a bonus.  Had mechanical issues with my bike, the ratchets in the cassette kept slipping out which meant no drive to the chain. Useful 10 miles from home.  A squirt of WD40 which one of the lads carries with him seemed to fix the problem.  The bike is due for service anyway very soon so that can be looked at as well.
