Taunton by Train 34

With a good strong southerly wind blowing up the coast a good opportunity to take the train to Taunton and have a comfortable ride back.  Caught the 1130 from Weston and tootled back via Bridgwater, Highbridge and Burnham (for tea and cheese on toast).

Off the train

No problems getting on the train, plenty of room.  It took about half an hour to get to Taunton. The downside of the station was the line was on the opposite side of the exit so had to carry the bike down and through a subway.  Made the mistake of buying a return ticket and despite offering it someone needing to get back to Weston there were no takers.

Somerset C.C.C

These provided a nail biting finish to the county cricket season.  It all hinged on the last game between Yorkshire and Middlesex.  A draw would have meant Somerset would have won the title for the first time in their history but Middlesex won and this local club were devastated.

That's it, the ground closed down now till next spring.

Uphill Scarecrows

It's that time of year again, the annual Uphill scarecrow competition.  This one was the best one of today's bunch that was spotted.

Covered 34, it has to be said fairly comfortable, miles today.
