30th October 2014 Burnham Bash 19

Another nice October day.  Heading off to Burnham on sea which will be into the wind and should be fairly easy on the way back.

Burnham High Lighthouse

Built in the 1830, this lighthouse was necessary because of the hazardous nature of the estuary at Burnham on Sea. 99 feet tall, originally it had a paraffin lantern, and when it was first built, it became a tourist attraction with many visitors climbing the spiral staircase to enjoy the views of South Wales and North Devon. It was decommissioned in 1993 and is now in private hands. It has been converted into a holiday accommodation and is a Grade 2 listed building. Photo not too good, sorry about that, but the light was all wrong.

19 miles today, still very pleasant for the end of October, surprised to be in shorts still.
