6th July 2014 Hunt the Scarecrow 21

As promised, went out today to get some pictures of the scarecrows scattered about the northern end of the Greenway at Burton Green.

The Mermaid

Although this young lady is a long way from the sea, it doesn't stop her lounging about at the side of the Greenway.

Coventry City Supporter

I know two Cov supporters, didn't know there was another one!  With the football season just over the horizon, the club is still without a ground and the issue looks like it will rumble on for some time to come.

Merrie Men

These had to be part of the greenery. Robin Hood and Friar Tuck. The other Merrie Men were so well disguised they could not be seen.

The Winner ??

This one gets my vote. Not a bad effort at all.

Sexy Sue

This is supposed to be a schoolgirl judging by the school and teachers report.  Looks a load of trouble to be honest.

Crowbot

Worthy of a prize just for the name; Crowbot, love it.

HS2 Survey

I thought at first these were part of the exhibition, then they moved.  They were conducting a survey and taking details of frequency, type of use and what flora and fauna had been spotted on the Greenway. This is part of a campaign by local residents (see www.thegreenwaytrust.org.uk) who are objecting to HS2 (a High Speed rail link between London and the North).  If it goes ahead it will be making a significant impact on the lives of those who live on the route. Hence the results of the survey will be fed into parliament to try and stop the train.
From here, went out to Barston and Balsall Common before returning home.

A nice sunny morning, very pleasant out there. Clocked just over 21 miles.
