24th September 2013 West Mids wander

Out with Graham today. Last joint ride before we do an event on Sunday supporting a group of riders who are doing 700 miles, through 7 countries in 7 days. It is day 2 of the 'tour de europe' now and we are meeting up with them on Sunday at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry before we all ride into Birmingham. Today's ride is based on the circuit I did Saturday, this is an extended version. Only one photo unfortunately.

The Varsity Pub

Met at my house and started out for a circuit around Chadwick End and Balsall Common. Within 3 minutes of starting, saw three cyclists stood at the side of the lane and realised that one of them was Alan, one of our regulars on the ESCC circuits. Small world. We had a chat before carrying on and looked forward to meeting up with him on Sunday for the 7 in 7 event.
In Balsall Common, stopped for tea and toast at La Delicia (see Saturday's blog) and the weather was good enough for us to sit outside and watch the world go by.  Continued on through Tile Hill, Westwood Heath and the University to home. Went past the Varsity pub, just outside the University grounds. If we hadn't had toast earlier, may well have stopped here for a bacon sandwich.

Good round trip today, 26.5 miles. Unseasonably warm today but no sun. That would have been a bonus.
