27th May 2013 Wellesbourne Wobble

Today never worked out at all! The idea was, go to Wellesbourne for breakfast, Tommy would meet me there with his bike and ride back home with me.

Smith Street Warwick

Went to Wellesbourne through Warwick.  Stopped at the bottom of Smith Street to take this photo. This street is one of the older streets in Warwick and retains a lot of its original character.

Wellesbourne Airfield

Rode out to the Airfield and waited for Tommy and his Grandma. She was bringing his bike over and having breakfast before Tommy rode back home with me. We had not realised that Wellesbourne Market, one of the biggest outdoor markets in the country, was on, today being a bank holiday.  That meant that Tommy was ages getting to the cafe. Never mind. Afterwards Tommy paid a visit to the little museum by the cafe. He found it very interesting with not only aircraft, but an underground war bunker on display. Time to get back though. The wind was behind us which will help the 12 mile journey. That was until a short distance from Hampton Lucy Tommy got a puncture. Grandma was not too far away so a quick phone call got him the lift he needed.

An eventful day. My total was 25 miles. Tommy's was about 3!
