Old Gits do the reverse route. 25

Went out last Sunday for a fairly routine 26 miler to Burnham on Sea which took the weekly mileage up to 101 so pleased with that.  Not much else to report apart from a little 5 miles yesterday to the hospital and to town.
Today though was Old Gits day for doing the 'reverse 'route.  A slight change to this one as Caffles, our normal tea stop was shut because of damage from Storm Hannah the other day.  We did find an alternative nearby however.

Garden Park Garden Centre

Luckily, this garden centre is only a few hundred yards past our normal stop although turning into the lane, one of the Old Gits had a narrow escape when a car overtook him and hit his outstretched hand. The change of tea stop proved very popular with the gang, the prices were slightly higher than we are used to but when there are place settings on the tables with serviettes that was to be expected.

In the sunshine

By about 1000, when we sat down for a cuppa, the weather had warmed up nicely and some of the OGs made the sensible decisioan to sit outside.  In all fairness, it was a bit of a shock to the staff when 18 orange clad cyclists invaded their premises.  Fair play though, they did well.

Should have gone the udder way!

Leaving the garden centre we took a back route through Puxton to maker way home.  A short way along Puxton Road there was a hold up as 149 cows crossed the road.  Despite cries of mooooove along there, they dawdled their way across the road.  No, we didn't count them, I asked the farmer how many there were.

How many?

A look over the hedge gave the answer.  It was then we realised we were in for a bit of a wait.

A good ride today in pleasant weather.  Clocked up 25 miles today.
