Old Gits out to Burnham 26

Another cold day again, suspect we have this all week according to the BBC.  Just about freezing when we met up at Weston for the first ride of the month which is traditionally down to Burnham on Sea across the Somerset Levels.  Seven started, which swelled to eleven as the journey progressed.  A little bit fragmented today with some taking the easier option to Burnham, but the main thing was we all met up at the Reeds Hotel on the Burnham sea front for refreshments.  A couple of mechanical problems were experienced, first a puncture and then one had a gear cable snap which meant riding back on the highest gears.  Lucky we were mainly on the flat.

Get the eggs

A bit of a cold day with the temperature just above freezing and a slight north wind.  No reports of frostbite from anybody mind, I think we had all taken the forecast seriously and wrapped up with sufficient layers on. In fact, after refreshments, it wasn't too bad at all despite heading into the north wind.  The sun making an appearance made a difference.  This is some of the group fiddling about with their bikes whilst the others bought their supply of fresh eggs from Westcroft Farm at Berrow. Finished the ride going across the River Axe and the Uphill Nature Reserve.

Not a bad day out today, the mileage recorded was just over 26.
