Out with the Old Gits 26

Out with the Old Gits on a cold and frosty morning. Started a few minutes after the main bunch and expected to catch them up at one of the 'catch up' points.  It was more difficult than anticipated, at one point they were in view across Sand Bay but despite pushing on never caught them up until Caffles, our tea stop.  There was frost about on the grass and some frozen puddles but thankfully, the roads were dry and nobody came off.  Have to confess to using a couple of disposable heat pads in the gloves today, well worth it first thing.

Road Closed

This was heading towards Silver Moor Lane from Puxton.  The barriers were right across the road protecting quite a big hole.  A bit of ingenuity and brute strength shifted one of them and we carefully negotiated our way through without anyone falling in the hole.  Replace the barrier and off we trot.  The remainder of the ride was very pleasant; according to the BBC weather, it was 10 degrees warmer at the finish and it certainly felt like it.  In fact it was so nice, added a couple of miles on at the end by riding around Uphill.

A good ride with 13 Old Gits, covered just over 26 miles.
