More catching up from the South West.

Another catch up from the South West, following on from the previous blog.  The 'Friday Riders 'went out for a 43 mile ride to Clevedon  last week where the photo shows us having refreshments at the Cottage Hospital there.

This  shot is of a charity event raising money for Alzheimers, a small team pushing a boat from Weston to Bridgwater about 20 miles.  This was just over a week ago, a week in which I managed 134 miles.

Monday the 16th Sep was a bit overcast but took the bike up to to the village of Shipham at about 400 feet. Started the week off with a 28 miler.  The next day was Old Gits day and we went on a 'Reverse' route to Caffles tea spot. This is us meeting at the north end of the pier.  Three of us added on a few miles at the end to clock up 37 miles.

On the way say this chap was clearing out some ditches, no warning signs to let road users he was there, and he made no attempt to move so I had to ride round him on the grass. Hopefully car drivers fared better than I did.

A bit further on took this picture on a disused railway line with the stone bridge carrying the A39 Bridgwater to Bath Road.  Very pleasant out there today.

And to finish up, this is yours truly on what must be my first bike.  Found this whilst sorting out some old family photos.  Judging by the 'V' s painted on the walls behind, this would have been at the end of WWII in 1945.  The wheels  look like they had  solid tyres, so must have been way ahead of cycling trends.  I just hope that wasn't a dress I was wearing!
