First full, well nearly full, trip with the Old Gits down to the Reeds Hotel at Burnham on Sea. This is the usual route for the first Tuesday in the month and it is quite flat across the Somerset Levels. The first half was into the wind and was quite tiring so myself and another recovering Old Git took a couple of miles off and went through Berrow to save a couple of miles. Coffee and baked beans on toast went down well at the hotel on the sea front and afterwards, the ride back was a breeze. No problems. In fact felt a little guilty for taking the short cut earlier!
Ready for the off
Taken by one of the walking wounded, here we are on Burnham sea front ready to return to Weston after tea and cake at the Reeds Hotel. Yours truly second from the right.
A good ride, nearly back into the swing of things except the average speed is down quite a lot. Covered 22 miles today with 11 other OGs.
