Old Gits go to Burnham 22

Tuesday morning so it is Old Gits Day.  First Tuesday of the month means a fairly flat run down to Burnham.

Meeting at the beach huts

A bit blowy this morning. a brisk, blustery, Northerly wind as 15 of us we met at the beach huts at the north end of the promenade. The ride was not without incident, some mechanicals (chains coming off)  and two road closures, one of which split the group up only to reform a few miles down the road.

Tree Fellers

Out near Mark, some trees were being pruned which slowed us down and it was at this point the seperated  group caught up.  Slight embarrassment after leaving the Reeds Hotel in Burnham, the wind along the sea front was very strong and blustery so the majority of us diverted through the town.  I volunteered to lead the way, took a wrong turning, and ended up a cul de sac followed by 10 cyclists. Luckily the banter that followed subsided when I quickly got them out of that pickle.  Made it back to Weston in the face of a strong headwind.

Good ride today, covered 23 miles.
