Sweets Cafe and a look back 35

Last day of the year and its not a bad one.  Surprisingly mild, no rain, a moderate wind from the SW, what more could you ask for.  Needed to get above the 30 mile mark to achieve a couple of targets so went down onto the Somerset Levels and to Sweets Cafe near Westhay.   Unfortunately, I forgot to turn on the Strava app to record the journey and the stats of the ride but managed to pick it up off the Apple watch.  Sorry about the map!

Didn't take any pictures today but looked back over the last 12 months and picked 5 that sum the year up. The first is a black cat at Warwick University taken on the 9th March.  Keep your eyes peeled and most days something will pop out begging to be snapped (not today though!)

May 1st saw the unofficial opening of a new cycle track between Weston and Brean.  The Old Gits made sure we were represented.

This shot, taken at Caffles garden centre in July in one of their poly tunnels.  Nothing like chat and banter over a cup of tea and cake/toast especially on a warm summers day.

Taken at the Isle of Wight in October, I took my bike with me to a Blues Festival and used it during the mornings.  This is a little pier near the harbour, I just like the clouds!

Weston promenade on the 17th of this month.  Couldn't resist this one, an entrant for the annual 'Cracker' 10K race.

Did 35 miles today and that took the week to 102.  Total mileage for the year was 4,830.  Should have been 5,200 but 6 weeks off after a pacemaker op meant it was always going to be behind.  Another milestone today was completed just over 13,000 miles on the Specialized bike and a grand total of 24,352 on all bikes.  Enough miles there to cycle over to New Zealand and see my son, and get back with miles to spare.  That's it for 2017 except a Happy New Year to all blog readers.
