Old Gits go Training to Burnham 27

7 Old Gits met on the promenade by the Beach Huts to venture out on a 'training' run.  Hopefully, these will be weekly events to take us places not normally seen by the majority of Old Gits and to provide an extra ride to boost fitness.  Not the best of mornings this one, quite chilly, definitely gloves  and leggings were required.  It was also foggy, not that bad that it was dangerous, but made everywhere a bit dank and miserable.

Dedicated Cycle Path?

After a decent climb over a hill at Bleadon, headed onto the Levels and went out through Mark to Highbridge.  Called in for tea and a snack at the Bay View Cafe in Burnham and some thought the prices were a little steep.  Had to agree although my tea and toast at £1.70 was considerably cheaper than a coffee and a sausage bap  which cost more than a fiver.  You pays your money...........
Went back through Berrow and Brean and after a slight altercation with a worker at Diamond Farm, "You can't come through here mate!", and lifting our bikes over locked gates, we carried on as normal on the new cycle path to Weston.  Normal that was until this digger type thing appeared in front of us and we had to tail it for a couple of hundred yards. Once he was out of the way it was straightforward back to Weston.

I covered 27 miles, some others were up in the mid 30s. An enjoyable morning in good company.
