Burnham on Sea plus a bit 31

Another good day out there.  Went to Burnham on  Sea and added a little extra on, just because I could.  The extra was a diversion to East and West Huntspill before going on the marina at Highbridge. The cafe  was very busy so didn't have the usual toast but plumped for an eccles cake instead to avoid waiting.  That was a mistake, the cake was £1.95. Outrageous.  You get four for a £1 in the supermarkets.  Having said that, it was tasty.

Low Tide at Burnham

This is the marina that serves Burnham and Highbridge.  Lovely around here, its is on the edge of salt marshes and a nature reserves. Have seen egrets, curlews and sandpipers along here.  The yachts are moored at the side of the River Brue, but at low tide are left high and dry.  Struck me that the users have limited time to actually use them.  Must be very frustrating on a lovely day like today not to be able to get them out.

Uphill

Nearly home now, about 1.5 miles to go.  Always a good view this, the old church in the distance on the left of the hill and a good slope down to the Uphill marina.  Have to be a bit careful through here on a busy day with lots of walkers about.

Just under 31 miles today, 142 for the week.  Quite chuffed ( any Americans reading this, chuffed = pleased) with that. Having entered two charity rides, one 50 and one 60 miles, need to up the ante a bit.
