Old Gits Gallop 25

Nice to get back on a bike again after the holiday. A bit cold today so layered up. A bit windy but apart from that, quite a pleasant day. Met up with the Weston Old Gits and did the usual circuit. Right at the end, did a little detour into town to find something to photograph.

Top of Banwell Hill

The Old Gits regrouping after climbing Banwell Hill.  This is the steepest part of our circuit and over, perhaps a third of a mile climbs 120 feet. Not enough to worry competitors in the Tour De France but when the average age of our group is over 70, there is a need to stop and make sure we have all made it!  Half way up the hill there is a sharp right hand bend which has a real 'kick' in it which does not help/

American Diner

Took a little detour into Weston Town to capture the statue of liberty that sits on the top of Browns American Diner. This opened in June of this year and has decent reviews on trip advisor.

A decent 25 miles today.
