4th November 2014 Old Gits get a soaking 23

Tuesday today which means its out with the Weston Old Gits CC.  A bit colder this morning and the forecast is rain later.  Forgot to set the GPS first off and was about 1.5 miles further when it was finally activated.

Welcome relief

A very good turn out today considering the weather.  We did the usual route, Banwell, Winscombe to Puxton and Hewish to the cafe. Just before the start, it started raining and continued non stop until we arrived at the garden centre for tea and cake. Most of us were feeling the cold and realising that our 'waterproof' kit was perhaps not so waterproof as we would like. Note the kit hanging up near the wood burner. Big thanks to Les today for sponsoring the drinks as it is his birthday tomorrow. Two more joined us on a tandem after this was taken which meant there were 15 riders in total today. Not a bad turnout for a miserable November day.

When we left the cafe the rain had stopped which was a blessing. Total miles for the ride was just over 23 counting the mile that was missed off the GPS at the start.
