16th January 2014 Cubbington Crawl

A bimble today. Not a great deal of time, and the rain is heading this way, so whilst the sun is out, taking a short ride, calling at my daughter's for tea and cake on the way round. Thank you Jayne Louise.

Blackdown Mill Bridge

Took the lane through Hill Wootton heading towards Cubbington. This old bridge crosses the River Avon and as can be seen, the water is well up. I trust the house in the distance is well protected because the water laps against the brickwork even at normal height. Any higher and the road would be impassable, but as it was only about 4" deep for a short way, was able to manoeuvre through it.

Carried on to my daughter's and had the benefit of the wind behind me on the return home. Just over 11 miles today.
