16th September 2013 Training with Lisa Part 2

Out with my niece Lisa again today for another training session, getting her in trim for a charity half marathon towards the end of October. Her chosen charity is Coppafeel, a charity that encourages young women to check regularly for lumps or other changes. Lisa will be having a link to a 'justgiving' site soon so watch this space. You have been warned.
Today's run was from Victoria Park in Leamington, over to Warwick, back down the Myton Road and the canal to Radford Semele, and back to the park via Newbold Comyn. A steady 10.5 miles.

3 miles to go.

Part of the route was along the canal from Radford Semele. Not much opportunity for photo shoots when the serious business of training is in session. Wobbled along a bit taking this one which is rather brave with the canal 2 feet to the left!  A short distance further on, there was an ideal location that I had sussed out; a little footbridge to lean the bike up against, Lisa running ahead into some trees, but just as I got to the bridge, the chain slipped and was trapped between the mechanism and the frame. By the time I released it she was way ahead and the moment was lost. Grrrrrrr.

Session done

All done. A better time by 3 minutes than last week but a little more effort involved. A kindly passer by took this just after we did the warm down, thank you lady.

A good run out for both of us. 18.7 miles for me, 10.5 for Lisa. This half marathon is going to be a doddle!
